DreamWorks Animation is back with a burst of colour and music in its latest release, the second trailer for “Trolls Band Together,” the eagerly awaited third instalment of the beloved animated musical franchise.
Accompanied by the catchy beats of NSYNC’s “Want You Back,” the trailer offers an exciting glimpse into the world of the Trolls. It also features a teaser of “Better Place,” a new single by NSYNC, marking their return to the music scene after more than two decades.
In this new chapter of the Trolls saga, Poppy (voiced by Anna Kendrick) and Branch (voiced by Justin Timberlake) have taken their relationship to the next level, becoming an official couple, affectionately known as #broppy by fans. However, their journey together takes an unexpected turn when Poppy uncovers a secret from Branch’s past. It turns out that he was once part of the beloved boyband phenomenon, BroZone, alongside his four brothers: Floyd (Troye Sivan), John Dory (Eric Andre), Spruce (Daveed Diggs), and Clay (Kid Cudi). Unfortunately, BroZone disbanded when Branch was just a baby, leading to a separation from his family that lasted for years.
The plot thickens as Branch’s brother, Floyd, becomes the target of two scheming pop-star villains, Velvet (Amy Schumer) and Veneer (Andrew Rannells). The dastardly duo kidnaps Floyd for his exceptional musical talents, setting the stage for an epic and emotional adventure as Branch and Poppy unite to rescue him from a fate even worse than fading into pop-culture oblivion.
Joining the vibrant ensemble cast are Camila Cabello, Zosia Mamet, and RuPaul Charles bringing their unique flair to the Trolls universe. Returning favourites include Zooey Deschanel as Bridget, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Gristle, Aino Jawo, and Caroline Hjelt as Satin and Chenille, Anderson Paak as Prince D, Ron Funches as Cooper, Kunal Nayyar as Guy Diamond, and Kenan Thompson as Tiny Diamond.
The film is helmed by the talented duo of Walt Dohrn and Tim Heitz, promising an unforgettable cinematic experience that combines heartwarming storytelling with toe-tapping tunes. “Trolls Band Together” is scheduled to hit theatres on November 17th.
