A woman who gets left and right mixed up has tattooed her hands to remind her which way is right (or left as the case may be).
The video on TikTok, uploaded by the woman’s sister @eizamurphy, shows her freshly done ‘L’ tattoo on her left hand and a ‘R’ tattoo on her right hand just below her thumbs.
If you’re good with your directions, you might think this is extreme, but with 8 million views of the video within a few days, clearly plenty of people can relate.

Lots of commenters said the idea was brilliant and they were going to do the same thing, while a few said they already had tattoos like this.
And while we might laugh at friends or family who confuse their left and right, it’s pretty common and can cause people a bit of anxiety.
“I WOULD DO THIS THEN ACCISENTALLY GET THEM TATTOED ON THE WRONG SIDES,” said one person.
“I think i would question myself three times a day if i got the tattoos on the right hands,” wrote another, to which someone replied, “Same, the self-doubt is extreme.”
Some commenters gave some useful hacks for remembering left from right without needing tattoos.
“As being a right hand writer I always tell myself “you write with your right”,” said one.
“Every time we have turn off and on the hose and taking it out best thing I learned lefty loosy righty tighty,” said another.
While a third said: “Use the L hand trick, make an L with your hands and whichever L is facing the right way is your left, if it’s backwards it’s your right.”
I used to struggle with left and right. It helped when someone suggested I think about which hand I used scissors with. Another way is to look at your hands, your left hand has the shape of a capital L. pic.twitter.com/X5ntJNG10h
