Famed comedy actress Kirstie Alley has passed away at the age of 71. Alley was reportedly surrounded by her closest family when she passed.
A post on her official Instagram account revealed that she passed away after a battle with a recently discovered cancer.

Alley made her debut in the 1982 science fiction epic “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” as Vulcan Starfleet officer Lieutenant Saavik. But really broke out in the late 1980s with her role in “Cheers” for which she won an Emmy award, along with scoring a smash hit in cinemas with “Look Who’s Talking” and it’s less popular sequels.

She also appeared in various other films in the 1990s, including John Carpenter’s “Village of the Damned” remake, the comedy “For Richer or Poorer,” and the acclaimed dark comedy “Drop Dead Gorgeous”.
In the late 1990s, she led her own sitcom with the comedy “Veronica’s Closet” and appeared on TV throughout the 2000s in telemovies and guest starring roles.
In 2022, Alley competed in season seven of US The Masked Singer as “Baby Mammoth” of Team Cuddly.
