It’s one of the true epic escape stories as five lions were on the lamb this morning after escaping their enclosure at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo.
The popular attraction is once again open for business after the escape sparked an emergency lockdown.
The “code one” emergency happened around 7.30 am prior to the opening of the Zoo and before any visitors had arrived. Staff were ordered to gather at a safe haven.
The Zoo stated early Wednesday morning that “An emergency situation occurred this morning at Taronga Zoo Sydney when five lions were located outside their enclosure, All animals are now in their exhibit where they are being closely monitored”
However, the situation was resolved without injuries to guests or staff and an investigation is underway to discover how the safety breach occurred in the first place.

If I was them, I’d be checking in on those Penguins, who are usually the masterminds in these situations, and check in to see if the Giraffe, Hippo and Zebra are still there and not on a boat to Madagascar.
Police were called and aerial footage showed keepers patrolling the grounds during the emergency.
