A stabbing on the Cairns Esplanade has left a woman in a serious condition.
Around 5.30pm yesterday, police responding to an assault found a 39-year-old woman with a stab wound to her neck.
Police rendered immediate first aid at the scene, before the woman was taken to Cairns Hospital.

A 20-year-old woman was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
She will face the Cairns Magistrates Court today.
Both women are known to each other.
