A man and woman have been killed in a crash near Cooktown.
Around 3.45pm yesterday, station wagon was headed north on the Mulligan Highway at Lakeland, when it has left the roadway and rolled several times near the Boggy Creek Bridge.
A woman in her 40s and a man in his 20s died at the scene, while another man aged in his 40s suffered significant pelvis, chest and head injuries and was flown to Cairns Hospital in a critical condition.
Two other passengers were transported to the Cooktown Hospital with minor injuries.
One female patient with minor injuries did not require further treatment or transport.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.
