A 17-year-old Mooroobool boy has been charged with multiple offences following two separate incidents earlier this week.
Around 2pm on Sunday (November 27), it will be alleged that the boy stole a handbag from a 77-year-old Daradgee woman at a Cairns shopping centre.
While the bag was recovered a short time later, several items, including a wallet and identity cards, could not be located.
It will be further alleged that around 11pm Wednesday (November 30), the boy broke into a Pembroke Street home.
The residents of the house called police, who arrived and arrested the boy inside a short time later. No one was injured.
Officers conducted a search of the boy and allegedly located marijuana, a pipe, and tools.
The 17-year-old boy was charged with one count each of enter dwelling and commit, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing utensils, possession of implements that was being or was to be used in relation to particular offence, stealing and steal from person.
He will appear in the Cairns Childrens Court later this month.
