A man has been left in a serious condition after he was shot by police in the Atherton Tablelands.
Police were called to bushland in Tolga after 1.00pm yesterday, to reports of a man armed with a bladed object.
It’s alleged the man approached an officer while armed, before he was shot once in the abdomen.

First aid was provided immediately and he was airlifted to Cairns Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The incident is being investigated by the Ethical Standards Command with the investigation subject to oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
