A man has been charged over an alleged stabbing at a Cairns North pub.
Police say a fight broke out between two groups around 1am yesterday, with an 18-year-old accused of stabbing a 55-year-old man in the chest.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police attending the hospital located an injured 36-year-old Gordonvale woman in company with the 18-year-old Aurukun man.
The 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.
Investigations are continuing into the disturbance and how the man and woman, each from a different group, sustained their injuries.
