A man is facing charges after attacking a 79-year-old man at Ravenshoe.
It’s alleged the 63-year-old man went to a neighbouring house on Dixon Hill Road around 5.30pm where he confronted a 79-year-old man, allegedly yelling at him and striking him several times with an object.
Police allege the older man suffered serious head injuries as a result.
It’s further alleged the 63-year-old then jumped onto a nearby ride-on lawnmower and drove it towards the victim, causing him to fall to the ground, where he has suffered further injuries.
The younger man is accused of carrying out the attack for some time, before the older man was able to take himself to a neighbour’s house and call police.
Police have charged the 63-year-old with one count each of grievous bodily harm, deprivation of liberty and torture.
