Police are investigating after a house went up in flames overnight at the Esplanade in Cairns North.
Six fire crews were called to the blaze on the Esplanade at 12.30am and nearby buildings were evacuated as a precaution.
The building which caught alight is being described as abandoned and has partially collapsed.

A crime scene has been declared and once safe, emergency services will conduct a search of the property.
Police are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam vision from the Esplanade, between Charles Street and McKenzie Street, to come forward.
