The unlawful killing of a cow in the far north is under investigation.
Initial investigations suggest the animal was shot between October 13-14, before being dragged off the road and butchered near on the Peninsula Development Road near Mission River.

The remains of the animal were located on October 14.
Anyone with any information in relation to this matter, or who may have dashcam footage is encouraged to contact police.
Police are reminding the community that, even if unbranded, cattle are still subject to ownership and cannot be killed or taken without permission or authority.
